Klimakataster¶
In the second phase of RegIKlim, NUKLEUS and WIRKsam have developed a concept for a nationwide platform for climate adaptation action based on the expanded needs of the model regions. The implementation of the so-called Klimakataster is a collaboration of NUKLEUS (Freva backend) and Pikobytes (frontend design and interfaces). The predefined main user group of the Klimakataster consists of impact modelers, city planners, and engineering offices, as well as trained state and/or local authorities. The platform will offer:
(regionalized) data download (bias-corrected RCM data, including climate indices), observations, and geo data,
various plugins/tools,
recommendations for climate adaptation action and exemplary guidelines for local climate service development.
Additionally, the Klimakataster will feature regionalized minimalistic climate fact sheets based on the bias-corrected NUKLEUS ensemble as low-level climate information access points.
Public access to a prototype of the Klimakataster with limited functionalities is planned for mid of 2026.
The continuation of the Klimakataster after the end of the RegIKlim project is currently under discussion. The domain
www.klimakataster.de has already been secured, but points currently to the Gerics homepage.
